A native of Taichung, Taiwan, Connie Tu is a conductor, pianist, and educator based in the greater Los Angeles area. A passionate advocate for public and accessible music education, Tu has served as Orchestra Director at Kraemer Middle School and as Assistant Orchestra Director and Choir Director at Arcadia High School. As a strong believer in fostering musical excellence among young musicians, she has led her ensembles to consistently earn “Superior” ratings at festivals hosed by the SCSBOA and SCVA and has taken them on domestic and international tours. Additionally, Tu served as Associate Conductor of the USC University Chorus from 2024 to 2025 and currently serves as Associate Conductor of the USC Oriana Choir. In 2023, she received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Arcadia Council Parent Teacher Association. As an active performer and conductor, Tu has studied and collaborated with esteemed conductors and mentors, including Dr. Janice Park, Dr. Grace Fong, Dr. Johanna Gamboa-Kroesen, Dr. Jacob Sustaita, Dr. Emily Sung, Dr. Tram Sparks, Maestro Larry Livingston, and Maestro Carl St. Clair.

Tu holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Chapman University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of California, Irvine, where she received the President’s Educator Fellowship. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Music, with emphases in Instrumental Conducting and Music Technology, at the USC Thornton School of Music.
