Our Young Artist Spotlight concert series celebrates rising musical talent, featuring exceptional students and emerging artists aged 23 and under who are actively building their musical careers.
Through performances, interviews, and behind-the-scenes stories, we shine a light on their artistry, dedication, and unique musical voices. This spotlight is a platform to elevate the next generation of performers and share their journeys with the broader community. These concerts are also free admission!

Tintora Quartet—rising stars from the Colburn Academy—showcase both solo and chamber works. The group prepares to compete at the junior category of the prestigious Fischoff Competition.

Zi Yang Low, violin
Malaysian violinist Zi Yang Low is a rising star known for his captivating stage presence and richly expressive playing. A Grand Prize winner of the GSF Singapore Festival and Second Prize winner at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition with Trio Tokava, he has performed across Asia, Europe, and North America. Currently studying at the Colburn Conservatory under Martin Beaver, Zi Yang continues to gain international recognition as one of the most exciting young talents of his generation.

Samuel Tatsuki, viola
Samuel Tatsuki, born in Los Angeles, began violin at age 4 and switched to viola at 7. He currently studies with Tatjana Masurenko at the Colburn Music Academy as a Kohl Scholar and will attend the Curtis Institute of Music in fall 2025. His past teachers include Teng Li, Eddy Malave, and Michael Larco.
A prizewinner in competitions such as the Johansen International, Southern California Viola Society, and Fischoff Chamber Music, Samuel has performed with the Evie Quartet and served as principal viola at BUTI’s Young Artists Orchestra. He spends summers at the Perlman Music Program and has worked with artists like Itzhak Perlman, Midori, and Lawrence Dutton.
