Sara Yamada is a violinist and recent graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music, where she studied with Margaret Batjer. She has played the violin since the age of four and attended the Manhattan School of Music pre-college program from age eleven, studying under Lucie Robert. As a violinist, she has performed across the United States and internationally at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall at Kauffman Music Center, and Suntory Hall. Sara has also appeared with NPR's From the Top on multiple occasions, ranging from creating a music video to performing at donor events. More recently, she was selected to perform a contemporary art piece by internationally acclaimed artist Tino Sehgal for the opening exhibition of the David Geffen galleries at LACMA. She continues to enjoy performing both classical and contemporary repertoire and has been involved in many film scores and pop ensembles. Along with performing, she is passionate about sharing music's power to build community and enjoys co-producing music events around Los Angeles with Fleahouse Music.
